Many are the plans in a person's heart,
but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.

Giving Thanks!

Thank you so very much Rachel for taking some AMAZING photos of my three loves.  It was not easy with a 2 year old...I have this idea that my girls were always so sweet and did what was requested of them and this boy of mine is the complete opposite which is probably not entirely true.  Thanks again Rachel; especially for your patience! :)  I wanted to share some of my favorites.

Homecoming 2012: Spirit Day and Parade

Today was school spirit day!  Since Joce is in student council she also participated in the homecoming parade...freshmen class doesn't get a float just a banner.  They did an AWESOME job...the vice president Jesse hand drew all the letters and characters!

And finally, the homecoming dance.  Joce went with two of her best friends. Jazz and her friend Tina just hung out at the homecoming game with friends. :)

Homecoming 2012: Circus Day and Cross Country

Today is Circus Day...Joce is an acrobat of sorts. ;)  Her unique outfit is made up of pajama shorts, white tee, ribbon, jewelry and hot pink fish net tights (thank you Target clearance $1).  Again, Jazz decided to opt out of this day.  I dropped off the girls and I concluded that if its too different not a lot of students participate in each day's theme.  Not sure I would have at their age either. ;)
And Gideon was full of energy this morning...I just adore this photo since it shows my boy as he is most often.  It always seems the photos I snap of him are of him putting on his best photo face (not really him) or shy.
Finally, last night was another meet for cross country.  I need some action photo practice because I only got part of Jazz.  And a photo of the girls team spirit.

Jocelyn and I decided that XC may be one of the worst spectator sports...you are cheering as they leave and then wait around for another 20 minutes until they start to approach the finish...even Gideon was asking to "go home now."  But we wouldn't miss your start and finish Jazz! :)  We love you girl! xoxox

Homecoming 2012: Twin Day

You two were so excited about twin day!  You look AWESOME!  Yes you do look a lot alike but I can see the subtle differences. ;)  I love you girls! I am so happy you're mine. :)

Homecoming 2012: 90's Day

Here you are Jocelyn in your 90's attire...pegged legged jeans, tucked in shirt with a belt, Keds and a scrunchie in your hair.  I wish I would have held onto my penny loafers; then you'd really be 90's :)  I had to laugh when you came home and told me how people were asking you what they should wear for 90's day.  Your response, "Have you seen Saved by the Bell or Fresh Prince of Bellair?  Wear something like that." ;)  Perfect answer.  Jazz decided to opt out of 90's day. :)
Look at your sassy self!

Homecoming Week 2012 and Week's Wrap Up

Week's Wrap Up
During this week we celebrated Jazzy's and Daddy's birthdays.  Jazz was adamant about no fanfare for her 16th birthday so we celebrated with family. ;)
Happy Birthday!

Mmmm cake!

Cousins!
A few photos of Jazz and Gideon.
Gideon kept running back and forth to check out the results of each photo.

Ah you two are so cute!
And Gideon has started a new chore; sorting the silverware.  He does good; with the occasional mix-up.

Homecoming 2012
I think I may have failed to acknowledge that Miss Jocelyn won the seat of Freshmen Class President!  Yay Joce!!!  This week is homecoming week so I thought I'd capture each day's theme; today is Cowboy Day!

Running Around

This past weekend we headed up to Prescott for Jazzy's first invitational.  As a parent I'm always so proud when my children give their best effort regardless of if its first or last place. It also breaks my heart when their hurting...she was a little disappointed in her run: 21 minutes for almost 3 miles.  She came in 20th overall--very good considering the number of runners there but I suppose we all have our goals.
She carries this verse around with her and even though she may not always get the best time or fall short of her goals, this verse inspires her to keep running.
Psalm 18:33-36
It is God who arms me with strength
    and keeps my way secure.
 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
    he causes me to stand on the heights.
 He trains my hands for battle;
    my arms can bend a bow of bronze
You make your saving help my shield,
    and your right hand sustains me;
    your help has made me great.
 You provide a broad path for my feet,
    so that my ankles do not give way.
Pre-race loves.

Pep talk.

Gideon wanted to be part of the team.

And once the runners approached the finish line and people were calling out names to encourage their runners, he'd call out whatever name he'd hear and clap like everyone around him.  The other high school kids were enjoying his enthusiasm.  After the first heat, Gideon decided to practice his skills.  He was so encouraged to keep running back and forth about 100 feet, as the older kids were still hanging around and clapping for him to "finish strong." :)
Away he goes.
Strong finish.
Jocelyn was sweet enough to be a resting spot.
My two favorite guys!!!

Later in the weekend there wasn't as much running around as there was horsing around!
Dog pile.
"Now listen up!"

"What you saying girl?"

"I won!"

Now off to prepare to celebrate two birthdays today!  Happy 16th birthday Jazzy!  Happy birthday to my sweet hubby too! :)

Cabela's

After half a week of a not so healthy boy, we chose to reschedule a camping trip we'd planned this past weekend. Instead we ventured out to Cabela's!  Cabela's is a fun, free place to visit with a little one but free goes out the window when your also with your husband and teenage daughters.  However, the fun is doubled with teenagers when you play out scenarios of "what would you do if this animal came to life?"  :)
