Well Jeremiah and I went to his turnout ceremony where he received his Apprentice of the Year award; we had a good time. Papa Tom and the girls did an outstanding job with little man while we were gone!

Jazz is our photographer lately...look at our little visitor we have every morning and afternoon. :)

Fall, Sweet Fall!

Finally! The weatherman believes yesterday was our last 100+ day in the desert--YAY! I absolutely enjoy this time of year...the mornings are cool and crisp and return in the evening. Well we were all looking forward to fall so we decided to take a trip up north this weekend past. And boy oh boy did that put us in the mood, from pumpkin pie lattes to the pumpkin patch. It was actually funny...we headed north reminiscing of fall in the northwest and all the farms up there with all the fall festivities. As soon as we hit higher elevation our windows were down and we were enjoying the high 60's! When we arrived at the rv park where were hooking up at it was literally a down pour of rain...not little raindrops, HUGE! I was soaked after guiding hubby into our spot. He had to put on a poncho to unhitch and get us set up. We decided to stay in the truck while Daddy worked out all the details. :) Then he came to the window and said, "this is why I don't live in Seattle." Ha, I thought that was funny after all our reminiscing---funny we forgot all about the rain...pine needles all over your car, the back of your jeans constantly wet on the back by the heels from rain flicking up...oh but we did have our fun in the northwest.

After getting settled in the rain finally broke and we decided to head to the pumpkin patch about 10 min outside of town...if your in Prescott I would suggest the short drive to Chino Valley's Freeman's Farm. This is a fantastic day trip from the valley especially if you go the back way through Wickenburg, Yarnell, Skull Valley to Prescott. We had a fantastic time! The people there were all very friendly...I would suggest buying pre-sale tickets online because it's worth checking out all the little extras like the merry go round, petting zoo, train, hay ride, and maze. After we arrived the weather was beautiful but by the time we were on the hayride....brrr! Gideon had to use Daddy's shirt to keep warm. The rain was getting ready to move back through so we decided to warm up with some Starbucks and head for home (the trailer).

I told the girls I wanted to get their photo here...Jocelyn's response "You want us to be ______?" Yes, she did use the term as it was meant but that didn't make it any better...teenagers.

This mini horse was seriously adorable...I told hubby I want one someday and I will name him Lil Sebastion (yep, from Parks and Rec) :)

After our Starbucks we called it a day...headed back to the rv park and watch a movie. The next day we took the short walk through all these awesome rocks down to the lake.

Wisdom for Life

I thought today's post I might share a little something I like to do...I love learning! Not because I am a teacher by degree and not by trade so much either; especially now that I am a stay-at-home mama. :) Even still, everyday I find I need to get filled up as in the words of Ray Bradbury...We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the Beautiful Stuff out. So...how do I get filled up and with what? First and foremost reading the bible and having a daily conversation with my Lord--all day actually--uttering a prayer here and there. Secondly, checking out from time to time a few of my favorite teachers and what it is they are teaching...now although each is different they all offer a great way to gain wisdom. So here are a few of my favorites...Dr. Stanley, Joyce Meyer, and Joel Osteen. Now I may not be perfect but I enjoy the journey of gaining wisdom each day to help me become that next to perfect person. :)
