Many are the plans in a person's heart,
but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.

Little Baby Yanez is a BOY!!!

Today was the day of our 2nd ultrasound...everything looks great on our little boy. He is on schedule with all his development; perfect sync with the date expected. God is so good!
Joce had her bets on him being a boy, Jeremiah refused to guess and Jazz and I were thinking a girl but had a feeling little baby would be a boy. We are very happy he is healthy and growing strong eveyday...such a blessing! :) Afterward the girls and I met up with my friend Angie for lunch and we also bought some flannel from Joann's to make some receiving blankets. I will post as I finish or as my mama finishes them.
We hope you enjoy a second look at our little boy...a profile, his feet and his goods. More pictures soon as Santa's visit approaches...

A Whole Lotta Fun!

I know its been a month...time just passes to quickly for me. Over the last month we've had quite a bit of fun.

Halloween arrived and was gone in a flash. Joce dressed as a hobo and Jazz a punk. We had a great time with my sister, family, and one of Jazz's friends. The boys took all the girls and Ben out for trick or treating. My sister, Cass and I passed out the candy. We had our fun with some of the trick or treaters; in particular the older 7th-8th grade crowd. Its funny, they come with practically no costume so we make them work for the candy...we have them finish a song or give them multiplication facts. Yikes, some of our youth seriously need to brush up on the math. We had a some boys and I gave them the problem 7 x 5...instead of calling out a quick 35, he counted by 7's until his friend prompted to count by 5's--atleast he had a strategy even if it wasn't what most of us would use. Yes, he did answer 35 and we rewarded him with a few extra candies for the effort. :)

Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays...November is the month of birthdays in my family. Three of my siblings out of my five, my mom and pop--geez. So this past weekend we celebrated Papa Tom's birthday with apple and peach pie...as my sister says, it seems as people age they like cake less and pie more. The apple pie was awesome; no I didn't make it but I did bake it. Who knew Sara Lee was such a fantastic pie maker.

Oh Jazz also had her first of three cross country meets. She is a super fantastic runner...she doesn't get it from me. I have tried running; it just isn't my cup of tea.

Lastly, we decided to take a belly shot. All of a sudden at the close of last week it was as if I popped like one of those timers on the turkey. Quite a few people already noticed at school but for those who didn't, I don't think they cannot notice now...what do you think?

15 weeks and 1 day :)

A Little Bit of This and That...

Aaahhh! I know it has been over a month since the blog has been updated! Busy, busy, busy...
Let's see Jazz and Jer celebrated there birthday together...it was a lot of fun! We grilled burgers and ate 2 types of cake. That's how it goes when you have two people who celebrate the same birthday--different tastes.

Yikes! Check out all that smoke from all the candles!

Over fall break we were able to head north to cooler weather. Jer's mom came down and we drove to Flagstaff for a 2 day stay, visited the Grand Canyon and headed back home through Sedona. So beautiful!!!

I am so blessed!

Lastly, the Yanez Fam will now be 5! Here is little baby at 10 1/2 weeks! The girls of course are hoping for a boy; who needs another sister? But on the other hand they see how adorable little girl clothes are and well they could be swayed...I am just so dang happy I'll be staying home next year!!! I've got these grand plans for making life easier on everyone at home...back to making the girls lunches, treats when they return home from school, and making breakfast for my wonderful hubby at 5:30 in the morning--eek. I have to get my baby-Jer-off to a successful day afterall! :)

The Great Outdoors!

This past weekend we went camping again with my sister and her fam. We had a lot of fun especially since we didn't forget the Ranger keys as we did the time before. We camped up in Prescott; so cooler than Phoenix by 20 degrees. We are definitely campers that like urban amenities...Sarah, Cassie and I drove to the Wal-Mart about 10 minutes away--no we didn't camp in a park--and we pick up some GIANT marshamallows! I am talking the size of your palm; length and width! Let's just say each of us only roasted one and they basically grew to the size of a small balloon! On another note when we arrived there was a sign warning of bear sightings. No biggie I didn't think of it until I woke up at 12:30 am! Now maybe if my bladder didn't feel like it was going to explode I probably could have fell back asleep and thought no further. But no! I heard noises outside the tent...Jeremiah was slightly awake. Jeremiah thought its just the wind against the tent...I thought okay I will have him take me to the bathroom and leave the girls. NO WAY! All I could think of was a bear all hyped up on giant marshmallows clawing at my little girls! I was just sick to my stomach so I told Jer that I had to sleep in the Excursion...we dropped of the kids in the truck and Jer walked me to the bathroom. Whew I felt much better with an empty bladder and the safety of shelter made from metal. I didn't sleep a wink with Jer's snoring (usual don't know because I am out like a light) and sandwiched between two girls and two Chihuahuas who kept getting up and walking around. But despite all the drama; we had a fun time!

School Days!

Aaaahhh! This is not a sigh of relief; it is a sigh of "What? We are already heading back to school?" Everyone was very anxious as usual to begin our school year. Fortunately Daddy took a day off, made us all breakfast and made sure the girls were safely on the bus and home again in the afternoon. My hubby is the greatest! I forgot my lunch and he happily prepared me something and brought it to the school. Well Jazz began the 7th grade and Joce 6th grade--oh our girls are just getting so big! I am happy to report that they both enjoyed their days. Now Daddy took the morning first day picture...I know Joce's eyes are squinting, poor girl they were directly facing the sun. But Jer did the best he could with his first day of school pic.

Lookin' Sassy!

Here are the girls with their new hair...I love Jazzy's ringlets--yeah just figured out how to make her hair into ringlets! Just twist hair sections with fingers! Oh and look at Joce's sassy short doo--truly brings out her wavy curls!

Camping!

Oh! Dozer, A.K.A Mr Ferocious-I never let anyone hold me, has a new best friend!

Our "cool" middle schoolers!

The little girls!

The boys!
Look what wandered into camp!

Last weekend we took a trip north with my sister, Sarah and her family. We had such a fun time...we hadn't been camping for atleast 4 years with my other sister, Steph and fam.
Jer was able to work only a half day and we took off. Well we didn't make it to camp until about 8:00 pm. We thought we'd take a forest road short cut but that ended up taking just as long as it wouldv'e to up the highway--oh well. It was on this dusting forest road at sunset that Jer looked at me and asked "Did you bring the Ranger keys?" Oops, neither of us had thought about who grabbed the Ranger keys...we left them some 150 miles away at home! So even though we didn't get to ride we still had a fun time! There was a nice little lake where Jazz and Jer tried out some fishing with no bites. The weather was beautiful despite a small shower in the evening--it was way better than being in 110+ temps. It made us all miss Washington; the green-ness, the fresh crisp air. Hope you enjoy the pics!

T-Shirt Bikini...

Alright so Jazz and I were talking swimsuits a few days ago...if Big Mama used to make her own swimsuits back in the day (40+ years ago) we certainly could try our hand at it. I found a pattern for a t-shirt bikini. Appeared simple enough...triangles, hourglass and sew. The pictures give it more credit than it is worth! I called Joce up first for a fitting...I couldn't stop laughing the top was too wide between the triangles and the bottoms had this weird seam thing going on above the toosh. Hmmm...Jazzy's turn. The top was too small and the bottoms still had the weird seam thing above the toosh. The girls would not let me even get a snapshot of them in the bikini--I was just cracking up--they looked like these cave women with swimsuits...too funny! What to do??? Roxy! In the words of a Natalie and Kortney; it was definitely...primitive!

UPDATE! Okay so I didn't give up on the t-shirt bikini. An hour later and wha-la! Jocelyn has a sassy orange bikini with a little advertising on the toosh for Grandpa Luis! And Jasmine in a very stylish beach ready shark bikini.

Friends!

What is true friendship? I think true friendships are those that can pick up exactly where you left off without having felt like any time passed between...I have a few of those friends; including my sisters. Natalie is definitely one...our school year tends to leave not much time to get together but when we do--BINGO!

Today we had a lovely visit with Natalie and Evan minus the crazy, scary Dozer! Ugh! He nipped Natalie--TWICE! Needless to say Evan never was within the reach of Dozer and Dozer spent most of his time in "time-out."

The Yanez fam was very happy to see lil Evan again. He is the BIGGEST lovie! Evan snuggles and gives kisses--oh so sweet! As you can see with the pictures we had a little fun with Evan...take notice of the NO WHINING sign...I know we are NOT professional photographers but we like to mix it up.

Jazz and Joce enjoyed having a little holding time with Evan. Evan enjoys just looking at them and pulling hair...I love dear-in-the-headlight Evan--I am sure that is from one of Dozer's crazy barking episodes. Evan was more than likely over stimulated today--let's hope for a good night's rest with all the ruckus at my house!

Happy 4th of July to all! We are planning on our usual Saturday night church service but with fireworks! I will post some pictures from that next week...if I don't forget the camera--bad habit I know!

Summer Days

Summer days seem to pass so slow...but we are enjoying every minute! The girls are ferocious readers so each week they check out about 5 books each and we are back again in a week at the library. We have a small library so they are getting down to the nitty-gritty of book selections. We have also enjoyed some homeade berry smoothies; very refreshing on our hot summer days. And this week we actually were able to meet up with a good friend of mine--Natalie and her adorable baby boy Evan. The girls absolutely adore him...makes us look even more forward to having a little bundle of joy in the next two years. We have plans in the making to see a few movies...next week we'll probably see My Sister's Keeper--chick flick so it is best to go without Jer. I think that sums up our summer so far...I promise to get some new pics of the girls up soon but for now you get the cartoon version of the Yanez fam. You see my church...radiantchurch.com is doing a summer series titled "Wii are Family." We thought it would be fun to create ourselves...the girls and I tried to give Jer his lovely, long eyelashes but he was not having it, oh well--enjoy!

Ahhh summer!

Well alright, so I don't think we can all sigh in relief of summer. Jer still has to work and let's not forget our skyrocketing temperatures.
Fortunately we did have a fabulous 3-day weekend with Jer...a little mini break for him. We drove up to Watson Lake on Sunday and even took our fierce dogs...yeah Roxy has turned to the dark side with Dozer--bad company corrupts good character. But surprisingly the two of them were mellowed out. Perhaps it was the 2 hour drive over cattle guards and the twists and turns that had me hanging out the window. We arrived around noon and enjoyed ourselves until about 4. It was so beautiful, weather and environment. Enjoy.
